I am
a vibrant, educated, and proud Mexican-American Registered Nurse.
The following quote by Ralph Waldo Emerson "Do not follow where the path
may lead. Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail", can
definitely describe "in a nutshell" what I have done in my career as a
Registered Nurse since 2005. I started my career at USC Women's and
Children's Hospital, in Los Angeles, caring for newborns in the Neonatal
ICU. In order to grow professionally, I took a job at Children's
Hospital of Orange County (CHOC). I then got the "travel bug" and
decided to take on a travel nursing assignment. I took an assignment in
the exotic, hot, and exciting city of Apple Valley. Although not much of
a travel for me, I just wanted to experience something different. Soon
after my "travels", I took on a different challenge in a non-profit
organization as the Head Start Registered Nurse. I enjoy working with
the community and reaching out to multicultural families. I am not sure
what is next for me, but I will go "where there is no path and leave a
trail."
I am an Alumni of Los Angeles County College of Nursing and Allied
Health, Rio Hondo College and University of Phoenix.
I take pleasure in being a mentor to nursing students who need
assistance and guidance with scholarship information, entry into a
nursing program, networking opportunities, employment guidance and
general support.
