Definition of a Mentee: One whose welfare, training, or career is promoted by an influential person.

Purpose of a Mentorship Program: To provide our LA NAHN members with the power of positive connections and helping others to establish and meet their career goals. By developing the necessary tactical skills and personal self-mastery, we can foster empowerment for all levels of entry into the nursing profession.

Objectives of Juntos Avanzamos Mentorship Program:

• Provide a source of advice, support, information, feedback, and exposure outside of the academic environment with the purpose of increasing one’s professional development.

• Lead particpants to new ideas, perspectives, standards, values, and professional growth.

• Promote career planning opportunities and develop leadership knowledge and skills.

Method: High School Students/Pre-Nursing students/Nursing Students/or nurses can sign up for a mentor by downloading the Mentee Profile and sending it to Mentorship@LANAHN.com.

We highly encourage currently enrolled nursing students and licensed nurses to join NAHN and local chapter membership.  Please see our membership section for membership application form.
