Alana Nunez-Garcia recipient of our LA NAHN Spring Scholarship!

Alana will graduate with her Bachelor's of Science in Nursing from West Coast University later this year. Alana began her career in healthcare five years ago as an EMT and has worked as an LVN for the past three years in adolescent psychiatric care, substance use treatment, and home health. Her goal is to become a Nurse Practitioner focusing on public health and working to give back in underserved communities.
Eligibility Criteria
1. Good Standing
Must be in good academic standing with a minimum of 3.0 GPA.
2. Enrollment
Must be enrolled in an accredited nursing program or higher education nursing program.
Letter of Recommendation
Required Documents

Copy of CA driver’s License.

Proof of enrollment to the college/university being attended.

Copy of unofficial transcripts.

Proof of current LANAHN membership (copy of paid membership invoice acceptable).

A letter of recommendation must be submitted via email to:

It must be from members of the academic community or nurse manager. The recommendation letters must be sent from a valid institution’s email address. The letter of recommendation should be a brief statement describing the student's character and motivation toward success.
Essay Requirement
The essay must be typed and double-spaced and must not exceed the word count (500 words).

The scholarship winner will be announced. Please plan to attend
the LA NAHN Annual Meeting on May 3 rd to receive your scholarship award.
