Letter of Recommendation 
Required Documents

​When submitting the required,  please use the following in the subject line: "Scholarship Application - Your First and Last Name."​​

  1. Copy of CA driver’s License.

  2. Resume/CV

  3. Proof of enrollment to the college/university being attended.

  4. Copy of unofficial transcripts.

  5. Proof of current LANAHN membership (copy of paid membership invoice acceptable).

  • A letter of recommendation must be submitted via email to:

  • It must be from members of the academic community or nurse manager. The recommendation letters must be sent from a valid institution’s email address. The letter of recommendation should be a brief statement describing the student's character and motivation toward success.

2025 Winter Scholarship Essay Requirement

The essay must be typed and double-spaced and must not exceed the word count (500 words).

1. What inspired you to pursue a career in nursing, and how does your cultural identity as a Hispanic student influence your passion for improving healthcare in your community?

 

 

2. Describe a significant health barrier you believe Hispanic patients face (such as language, access, or cultural stigma). How do you hope to address this barrier as a future nurse?

 

 

3. How do you envision using your nursing education and skills to advocate for health equity and improve long-term outcomes for Hispanic families and communities?

2025 Winter Scholarship Process
​

  • The 2025 LA NAHN Winter Scholarship application process will commence on August 15th. All documents must be received by December 1, 2025 (Please note extended deadline).

  • We encourage applicants to start preparing their materials  well in advance of deadline in order to allow for sufficient time to obtain letters of recommendation 

  • Scholarship awardees will be announced at our Annual Gala on Friday, December 12th.
